It depends on your goals. EVS is best if you need to exit on-prem quickly with zero changes. EC2 rehosting balances speed with cost optimisation. Full modernisation delivers maximum competitive advantage. We often recommend a hybrid approach: start with EVS or EC2, then selectively modernise high-value workloads.

Savings depend on your estate and licensing position. They typically come from eliminating VMware licensing costs, pay-as-you-go pricing, auto-scaling, right-sizing, and AWS license-included instances. The AWS Optimisation and Licensing Assessment (OLA) can help right-size Windows/SQL Server licensing, and we will model your TCO as part of the assessment.

We mitigate risk through extensive testing, pilot migrations, and wave-based execution. Applications are tested before cutover.
